South Euclid, OH – May 9, 2005 - With one season now under their belts, the Notre Dame College women's lacrosse team will be enhancing their talented base and adding even more speed, athleticism and skill to their game for the 2005-06 playing season.

Already committed to the young program are the following Ohio standouts - Molly Merrill (Medina), Angie McGrady (Kent), Lauren Nagle (Stow), Jo Bauswein (Kenston) and Adrienne Gaither (Mason).

Molly Merrill, a captain for Medina High School, is a potent attacker finishing the 2004 season as the third place point leader in all of Ohio with 98 points. Merrill also finished the season as the category leader in most assists (58), most assists per game average (3.41) and points per game (5.76). She finished the year with 40 goals and 58 assists. Merrill is keeping pace with the best of them again this year, totaling 30 points thus far with 20 goals and 10 assists. "Merrill is an offensive weapon and should make a very smooth transition to the college game," said first year Notre Dame head coach Candace Taglianetti.

Angie McGrady, a captain for Kent Roosevelt High School, is another balanced attacker who is making a significant contribution to her successful lacrosse team. McGrady is fifth on the team in point totals with 15 goals and 4 assists. She is also fourth on the team in scoring. "McGrady is a very versatile player and we will look for her to make an immediate impact on our team," said Taglianetti.

Lauren Nagle, from Stow High School, is a phenomenal athlete with endless potential. Nagle is among the fastest and most athletic on any field and she will help the Notre Dame College midfield. "Nagle will add the tenacity and speed and athleticism that is needed to compete at the higher levels," said Taglianetti.

Jo Bauswein, a captain for Kenston High School, is a very versatile player that has a knack for finding the goal. Bauswein leads her team in points with 23, which is exactly the number of goals she has tallied thus far. "Jo has an incredible drive, dedication and passion for the sport; it is no wonder she has been so successful and will continue her success down the road," said Taglianetti.

Adrienne Gaither, from Mason High School, is fairly new to the game, but one would never know. She has been able to combine her quick feet, her anticipation and awareness, as well as her basketball skills to become a defensive force at point. "Adrienne has progressed every year and she will combine her athleticism and keen sense of the game to shutout the opposing attack," said Taglianetti.
