Notre Dame College Hires Fastpitch Assistant Coach

South Euclid, OH - October 28, 2004 – Notre Dame College announced the hiring of Jodie Holava as the fastpitch assistant coach for the Falcons under first-year head coach Terry Leighty.

Holava is a graduate of Mount Union College. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree after majoring in the athletic training education program and minoring in secondary education and health education. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree from Cleveland State University in exercise physiology.

The head coach of the North Coast Spirit, a 16 and under NSA summer team, Holava has also been an assistant varsity coach at Lorain Southview High School since 2002. Additional credentials include serving as the head athletic trainer at the school through the Cleveland Clinic Foundation since 2002. She previously worked through Trinity Health Systems at Indian Creek High School after graduating from college.

A former designated hitter at Mount Union, she earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference and All-Central Region Designated Hitter honors two consecutive seasons.

She is a current member of the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association, the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and the Ohio Athletic Trainer’s Association.
