President Roth Announces Four New Sports Programs

South Euclid, OH - November 12, 2003 - Notre Dame College President Andrew P. Roth, Ph.D. and the Cabinet announced the addition of four new sports to the Falcon Athletic Department beginning in the fall 2004-05 academic year with men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse and men's baseball.

The new athletic programs will generate an additional 50-60 full-time students to the college's current enrollment of 1200.

Notre Dame College Director of Athletics Susan Hlavacek sites further benefits with the addition, "We are increasing the opportunity for students to participate in athletics while also increasing enthusiasm and school spirit on campus by adding more activities for the faculty, staff and student body to attend. The new programs will also give local prospective athletes the ability to continue their playing experience at the collegiate level in an environment close to home where they can also earn a top-notch liberal arts education."

Notre Dame College is also expanding athletics educationally by introducing sports management to the current curriculum. The program is in the development stages at this time with the final proposal slated for release before the end of the 2003-04 academic year.
