Falcon Fastpitch First Time Regional Appearance

South Euclid, OH – May 9, 2005 - Things just keep on getting better for the Notre Dame College fastpitch program. Each season, the Falcons seem to go a little bit further than the previous year, and in 2005, the trend continues with a first time appearance in the Region IX Tournament.

Notre Dame is the third seed in the eight-team, double elimination tournament that runs from Wednesday, May 11 through Friday, May 13, with Saturday serving as a rain date. Games will be held at either Ohio Dominican University or Ohio State University.

The Falcons, who enter the tournament with an overall record of 21-15, go head-to-head in their opening game against Lyndon State College out of Vermont. The Lady Hornets are 14-11 and won the Sunrise Conference for the second consecutive season. The game will be played at noon on Wednesday at Ohio State University Field #2.

The winner will play either Tiffin University or Urbana University at 6 p.m. that same day at Ohio Dominican University Field #1, while the loser will play at
2 p.m. that day at Ohio University Field #2.
