Medina's Gigliotti Chooses Notre Dame for Fastpitch
South Euclid, OH – May 9, 2005 - When deciding on where to further her education and fastpitch career, Medina High School senior Jill Gigliotti had several options to weigh. Ultimately, her decision came down to education and location.
The pre-med major made her choice to become a Falcon and signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to play fastpitch for Notre Dame College beginning with the 2005-06 academic year.
"[Notre Dame] has good academics and it's not too far from home," said the four-year varsity catcher.
Another factor that aided her decision was the opportunity to play with former high school teammate Michelle Costa and friend Lauren Heath, both of whom will be in their junior seasons as Falcons next year.
Gigliotti, who had an impressive sophomore year at the plate hitting .460 with 33 RBI, followed with a junior year batting average of .298 with 24 RBI. She was a First-Team All-Pioneer Conference pick, First-Team All-County and Honorable Mention State selection as a sophomore and a Second-Team All-PC pick as a junior.
The Honor Roll student should add to her list of honors with the conclusion of her senior season this spring.
