Vermilion Duo Signs with NDC Baseball Program

South Euclid, OH – June 2, 2005 - It's a good day when the Notre Dame College baseball program acquires a top player from an Ohio high school. It's a great day when the program gets two top players from the same school.

This week, Vermilion High School seniors Michael Wilsey and Brett Zientarski signed NAIA Letters of Intent to become Falcons beginning with the 2005-06 academic year.

Wilsey was a four-year varsity player for the Sailors. The Honor Roll student-athlete hit .477 in his final season. The shortstop also had 23 stolen bases and 22 runs batted in and was named First-Team All-Lorain County.

Zientarski was a three-year varsity team member. The left-handed pitcher split his time on the mound and in centerfield. This past season, he hit .388 and had a 2.82 earned run average. He was a First-Team All-Ohio Heartland Conference pick, as well as First-Team All-Lorain County and First-Team All-District selection during his time with the Sailors. He was also a member of the Honor Roll.

"[Notre Dame] is a friendly environment and has a great location," said Zientarski.

"I like the people and the community," said Wilsey.

Wilsey plans to major in business, while Zientarski plans to major in marketing.
