Falcon Baseball Snags Another Vermilion Star in Novak

South Euclid, OH – July 19, 2005 - After two seasons with Malone College, infielder Mike Novak decided to make a change and transfer to Notre Dame College. By signing an NAIA Letter of Intent Tuesday morning, he will continue to play within the American Mideast Conference North Division, but will be a Falcon beginning with the 2005-06 academic year.

The former three-year varsity player at Vermilion High School hit .263 for the Malone Pioneers. In two seasons, he totaled 22 runs scored and 22 runs batted in. This past season, he started 24 games for Malone, who finished the season at 26-25 overall and in second place in the AMC North with a record of 13-9.

Novak, an accounting major, is the third graduate of Vermilion High School to sign with the Falcons this season. Michael Wilsey and Brett Zientarsky committed to NDC in June.
