Tri-C Player Transfers to NDC
South Euclid, OH – August 25, 2004 - This week, Midpark High School graduate and Cuyahoga Community College transfer Anthony James signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to play baseball for Notre Dame College as their inaugural season begins with the 2004-05 academic year.
A three-year varsity player at Midpark, James spent time behind the plate, at third base and as a closer on the pitching staff. He hit .421 with eight doubles. He was the team's Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and the team Most Valuable Player as a senior.
At Cuyahoga Community College , he was the starting catcher for two seasons in which time the Challenger's went to the Region XII Tournament in 2004. This past summer, he played in the Erie Shores collegiate wooden bat league for the Vermillion Veterans, where he threw out 48 percent of the runners attempting to steal.
James had three main reasons for choosing Notre Dame College to further his career, “education, athletics and baseball,” said James.
He plans to major in education.
