Acker to kick it for Falcons
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio –The Notre Dame College Women’s Soccer team announced the signing of Lauren Acker to a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Letter of Intent to continue her soccer career with the Falcons.
The 2008 Westlake graduate earned three letter varsity letters for the Demons where she posted two goals and two assists her senior season. Her team earned a 14-3-3 record and advanced to the District Finals. She was a 1st Team All-Southwest Conference selection as well as a 1st Team All-Sun Herald honoree. She earned her team Defensive MVP award.
As a junior, Acker tallied five goals and three assists and earned Honorable Mention All-Greater Cleveland. The team made their way to the Northeast Ohio District Semi-Final and finished with a 12-4-4 overall record.
The sweeper finished her high school career on a team that set new program records in fewest goals allowed, most shutouts and most victories.
Acker also played on the 2004-05 State teams in addition to a place on the Ohio Development Program in 2002-03. From 2002-04 she played for the Northern Ohio Select Team and the Force Juniors Y League in 2005.
The Falcons finished the 2007 season with a program-best 13-4-2 overall record and advanced to the semi-finals of the NAIA Regional Tournament (Great Lakes East) for the first time in program history.
Notre Dame College is a co-educational liberal arts institution in South Euclid, Ohio. The Notre Dame Athletics Department sponsors the Falcons' participation in 17 men's and women's sports. The College is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the American Mideast Conference (AMC), which is the largest NAIA conference in the country.
