Schwartz signs with Falcon volleyball
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame College Volleyball program announced the signing of Rachel Schwartz to a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Letter of Intent to continue her volleyball career at Notre Dame.
The Sturgis High School standout earned three letters in volleyball for the Trojans and an additional four in track. In her senior and junior seasons, she was named team Defensive MVP. Over her three year high school career, she amassed 1,080 career digs in the backcourt.
She is also an honor roll student.
"Rachel will be a great addition to the team," said Mark Ridley who enters his sixth season in 2008, "She has the ability to play pretty much anywhere on the court and will be a huge asset to the defense."
The Falcons begin their 2008 campaign on Aug. 22 when they travel to Dearborn, Mich. to participate in the UM-Deaborn. NDC finished the 2007 season with an overall record of 21-14 and an American Mideast Conference-North Division title.
Notre Dame College is a co-educational liberal arts institution in South Euclid, Ohio. The Notre Dame Athletics Department sponsors the Falcons' participation in 17 men's and women's sports. The College is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the American Mideast Conference (AMC), which is the largest NAIA conference in the country.
