Shofar so good
Padua standout inks with NDC
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame Softball program today, announced the signing of Candace Shofar to a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Letter of Intent to continue her softball career at NDC.
Shofar comes to College Road from Cleveland. She was a standout three-year player at Padua Franciscan High School. She earned three varsity letters in softball and one in basketball for the Bruins. The infielder was named Padua’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2007, when she was also a First Team All-North Coast League (NCL) selection. As a senior, Shofar was named Padua's team MVP and Second Team All-NCL.
The daughter of Mike and Vicki Shofar plans on beginning classes at Notre Dame in the fall and plans on majoring in Nursing.
Notre Dame softball went 31-13 and qualified for the NAIA Regional Tournament play in 2008. Over the last three seasons, the Falcons have compiled a record of 96-33 (.744).
