Second men's swimmer signs with NDC
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio –The Notre Dame College Men’s Swimming & Diving team announced the signing of Christopher Tuttle, the program’s second student-athlete, to a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) letter of intent.
Tuttle comes to NDC from nearby North Royalton, Ohio where he was a four-year letter winner and four-time captain for the North Royalton Bears.
He was a four-year district qualifier in middle-distance events. Tuttle was also named to the All-Northeast Ohio Conference Second Team as a senior and a First Team honoree as a freshman.
NDC will add Men’s Swimming & Diving, beginning in the 2008-09 academic year. The Men’s team will be led by Mike Gallagher, who will be the head coach for both Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving. The Falcons Women’s team was instituted in 2006.
Men’s Swimming becomes the 18th team in a growing and successful athletic department, one that just 10 years ago sponsored only five intercollegiate teams. Last year, Notre Dame instituted Wrestling, in addition to Women’s Swimming. Among its other 15 sports teams, nine posted their program’s best season record over the past 12 months.
Notre Dame College is a co-educational liberal arts institution in South Euclid, Ohio. The Notre Dame Athletics Department sponsors the Falcons' participation in 17 men's and women's sports. The College is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the American Mideast Conference (AMC), which is the largest NAIA conference in the country.
