State standout South Euclid-bound
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – On Thursday, Notre Dame Men’s Basketball announced the signing of a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Letter of Intent with Eric Dummermuth of Dover, Ohio.
Dummermuth comes to College Road as one of the most decorated high school basketball players in the state of Ohio. The 6-foot-6 Dover High School standout averaged 23.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game for the 20-3 District finalist Tornadoes. Among other accolades earned in his senior season, Dummermuth was named Division II First Team All-Ohio by the Associated Press.
“Eric is a great kid from a wonderful family,” said NDC Head Coach Kevin Bille. “We are thrilled to have him become a part of Notre Dame College.”
Dummermuth was named the East Central Ohio League’s (ECOL) Player of the Year and was selected as a member of two prestigious high school all-star teams (Ohio North-South Game and Ohio-Kentucky Game). He earned an additional four letters in soccer as a standout goalkeeper. Between the two sports, Dummermuth piled up five First Team All-ECOL awards.
For Kevin Bille, though, it’s Dummermuth’s basketball talent that’ll have Falcon fans on their feet as soon as next winter.
“Eric comes from a very good program and has had a ton of success,” said Bille. “His resume speaks for itself. He will make a smooth transition and be expected to contribute right away.”
Notre Dame Men's Basketball was instituted in 2001. The Falcons earned their first ever Division Championship (North Division, American Mideast Conference) in 2007-08. NDC posted a 7-3 division mark and a 14-15 record overall. The program also sported its first-ever First Team All-American (NAIA-II), Jerome Pierce (Toledo, OH).
Notre Dame College is a co-educational liberal arts institution in South Euclid, Ohio. The Notre Dame Athletics Department sponsors the Falcons' participation in 17 men's and women's sports. The College is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the American Mideast Conference (AMC), which is the largest NAIA conference in the country.
