Falcons to unveil new look this fall
New Athletics Web site, logo under development
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio, Aug. 25, -- Notre Dame College Athletics will take on a new look this fall. The Notre Dame Department of Athletics announced today that a new Athletics Web site and logo are being developed. NDC is working with Syracuse, N.Y.-based Internet Consulting Services (ICS) on the development of the College’s official athletics Web site. The College is working with Westlake-based Division Street Design on the creation of a new NDC athletics logo. Notre Dame expects to unveil the new logo and launch the new Web site this fall.
“We’re excited about the development of these two projects,” said Notre Dame director of athletics Susan Hlavacek. “It’s an opportunity for us to present our student-athletes, our athletic teams, and the College in a way that highlights our heritage and our future.”
Both projects are being coordinated by the Notre Dame Sports Information Department, which will manage the content on the College’s new athletic Web site. Once it launches, the site will have an independent address at www.NotreDameFalcons.com. It will also be accessible from the College’s internet home, at www.notredamecollege.edu/athletics.
The new site will incorporate a new design, easy navigation, and numerous features that will benefit Falcon fans. New features will include interactive polls, RSS feeds, free SMS (short message service) text alerts, and more.
The move to update the NDC athletic logo is part of an overall initiative to better define and present Notre Dame Falcon Athletics as a brand. The new logo will better present Falcon sports by exhibiting the school’s athletic colors with new spirit marks and a stronger collegiate athletic look. Elements from across the Notre Dame College community will be involved in the development of the logo.
“We’re excited about both projects coming together simultaneously,” said Hlavacek. “The College has a lot of recent success stories to share, on and off the field. We want the Web site and our logo to be dynamic and effective vehicles for telling those stories.”
