Lamarche heads south for soccer

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame College Women’s Soccer team announced the signing of Emilie Larmarch to an official NAIA Letter of Intent to play soccer with the Falcons beginning with the 2007 season.

A diverse student-athlete from Rockland, Ontario, Canada, Lamarche played for Ecole Secondaire Catholique L’Escale and played four years at the varsity level. She earned MVP honors in 2005 and 2006 while serving as a captain both of those years, as well. In 2006 she held her competition to only two goals against for the entire season.

At the club level, the 5’9 netminder played for the Gloucester Hornets, Ottawa St. Anthony’s Italia Soccer Club and Rockland United teams.

In addition to soccer, Lamarche also enjoys playing volleyball, badminton and running track.

“Emilie has played at a very high level at both the high school and club level in Canada. She is a very good goalkeeper who organizes well and provides the added dimension of playing the ball out of the back,” said Head Coach Mike Shiels.

The Notre Dame Women’s Soccer team finished with an 11-8 overall record and a 5-2 record in the American Mideast Conference-North Division in 2006. They advanced to their first-ever post season play before falling in the NAIA Region IX Quarterfinals. NDC opens the 2007 season on August 30 when they travel to Chicago, IL for the Crimson Wave Invitational.
