SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The first season of Notre Dame Women's Swimming and Diving was one for the record books. NDC will look to build on last year's experience which included the shattering of multiple team records and sending five swimmers to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Championship Meet.

The Falcons open the 2007-08 season on Saturday, Oct. 27 when they travel to Pittsburgh for the Pitt-Bradford Relays. Last year, NDC opened their inaugural season with three gold medal relays and a third-place overall in team scoring.

The Falcons' home season commences with a dual meet against nearby Hiram College comes to College Road on Friday, Nov. 2.

"I'm excited to start the dual meet season in our home pool," said second year head coach Mike Gallagher, "we've got a few more home meets this year which is always great for the team."

The winter swimming and diving schedule includes four (4) home meets for the Falcons- one (1) in November and January, and two (2) in January. NDC will host many of the same programs they competed against last season including Ohio Northern, Jan. 12 and Ohio Wesleyan, Jan. 26. The Blue and Gold will host Chatham (PA) for the first time in program history on Feb. 2 to close out the dual meet portion of the season.

"Last season we grappled with inexperience," said second-year head coach, Mike Gallagher, "this season we're returning a solid core of swimmers."

The season concludes on Mar. 1 at the NAIA Championship Meet in San Antonio. Last season, the Falcons qualified five swimmers for the meet in their first ever national appearance.

Notre Dame College is a co-educational liberal arts institution in South Euclid, Ohio. The Notre Dame Athletics Department sponsors the Falcons' participation in 17 men's and women's sports.
