Falcons to unveil new look this fall
New Athletics Web site, logo under development
Aug. 25: Notre Dame College Athletics will take on a new look this fall. The Notre Dame Department of Athletics announced today that a new Athletics Web site and logo are being developed. NDC is working with Syracuse, N.Y.-based Internet Consulting Services (ICS) on the development of the College’s official athletics Web site. The College is working with Westlake-based Division Street Design on the creation of a new NDC athletics logo. Notre Dame expects to unveil the new logo and launch the new Web site this fall.

Women's Lacrosse
Notre Dame hires lacrosse coach
Sept. 10:The Notre Dame Department of Athletics announced the hiring of Torrey McGowan as the new head coach of the Women's Lacrosse team. McGowan takes the helm of the NDC Women's Lacrosse team coming from SUNY (State University of New York)-Potsdam in Potsdam, N.Y. where he was the first assistant for two seasons (2006-08).
At Potsdam, McGowan was responsible for the team's strength and conditioning and served on a coaching staff that increased the goals per game average from 8.3 in 2007 to 11.6 in 2008. The Philadelphia native's primary responsibility for the Bears was in recruitment bringing in 18 student-athletes in his second season.

Women's Lacrosse
Falcons stick it out in the classroom
Aug. 18: The Notre Dame College Women's Lacrosse Team announced the signing of Vanessa Scott to a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) letter of intent to continue her lacrosse career with the Falcons. The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced that 11 institutions in Division II have earned Academic Squad honors, including three that have been named Merit Squads. The Notre Dame Women’s Lacrosse team was among the 11, which earned a collective GPA of 3.0 or higher. Included in the list of teams were both the NCAA Division II finalists, C.W. Post (NY) and West Chester (PA).
