Falcons host Spring Invite at Mayfield CC

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - Notre Dame hosted their annual spring tournament Wednesday. The Falcons and five other squads teed it up in sunny spring weather at the par-71, 6,618-yard Mayfield Country Club in the NDC Spring Invitational . Notre Dame place fifth in the event with a team score of 331.
Individually, the Falcons were led by a pair of 10th-place finishes in the field of 37. Sophomore Tony Pinzone (Parma, OH) and junior Rob Kline (Macedonia, OH) each carded 10-over 81's.
Tiffin University won the Invitational, with a score of 316. That narrowly edged out John Carroll and Malone, who each tallied 318 to finish as co-runners-up.
Pinzone played evenly - the sophomore parred five holes on the front and four on the back. He did post a double bogey on the back nine.
Kline fired a 37 on the front. A sub-80 round was undone when he tripled 14 and doubled 15.
Playing as an individual, Jared Tentler (So/North Canton, OH) fired his best score, an 81, to also finish tied for 10th.
John Carroll's Kevin Bove earned medalist honors with a 2-over 73.
