Falcons finish ninth at NAIA Regional Tourney

Apr. 25: Notre Dame competed in the NAIA Regional (Great Lakes East) Tournament Thursday and Friday in Howard, Ohio. The Falcons placed ninth in the 10-team field with a score of 966 over three rounds. The tournament closes out the 2007-08 season for NDC.

Sophomore Tony Pinzone (Parma, OH) fired a 75 in the final round at the par-72 Apple Valley Golf Course. His three-round total of 241 was second on the team; David McCaig (Sr/Stewarton, Scotland) was NDC top man, at 237. McCaig placed 30th in the 50-man field.

NDC 8th at Wooster
Apr. 20: Notre Dame competed in the Nye Collegiate Invitational in Wooster on Saturday and Sunday. The Falcons placed eighth (out of 12 teams) in the 36-hole event held at Wooster Country Club and hosted by the College of Wooster.

Sophomore Tony Pinzone (Parma, OH) led Notre Dame with a 78-83 (161). Senior Chris Holz (Parma, OH) finished two shots behind Pinzone; he carded an 80-83 (163) and finished T-35th. Pinzone finished T-31st over the 6,455-yard, par-72 layout.

Ringing in spring
Apr. 16: Notre Dame hosted their annual spring tournament Wednesday. The Falcons and five other squads teed it up in sunny spring weather at the par-71, 6,618-yard Mayfield Country Club in the NDC Spring Invitational . Notre Dame place fifth in the event with a team score of 331.

Individually, the Falcons were led by a pair of 10th-place finishes in the field of 37. Sophomore Tony Pinzone (Parma, OH) and junior Rob Kline (Macedonia, OH) each carded 10-over 81's.
