Falcons sweep Muskies in home dual
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Notre Dame defeated Muskingum on Tuesday, 45-0, in their second dual meet of the season. No. 15 Notre Dame dominated in eight bouts winning two by fall and five by major decisions. The victory at Murphy Gymnasium runs NDC's season record to 1-1.
Tyler Savage (Fr/Lima, OH) started the match off at 125 with a major decision over the Muskies' Michael Halko (Fr/Columbus, OH). Dante Rini (Fr/Massillon, OH) and Brett Freeman (So/Burton) followed Savage with a pair of pins at 133 and 141 to give the Falcons a commanding 16-0 lead.
From there, Nate Spencer (So/Mayfield, OH), Jason Spencer (Jr/Mayfield, OH) and Mike Mahon (Fr/Cincinnati, OH) earned consecutive major decisions over their Muskie opponents. Two bouts, at 184 and 197, were forfeited by Muskingum. The Wrestling Falcons won eight bouts overall.
The next event for the Falcons is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1, when they travel to Ashland, Ohio for the Simonson Invitational.

Fish eggs: Last year the Falcons shut out the Muskies 51-0. Tuesday's shutout win was the third dual meet shutout in Falcon history. The Falcon's all-time dual meet record now stands at 11-7.
