NDC Mat Men Win Murphy Debut
South Euclid, OH – The Wrestling Falcons of Notre Dame College won their inaugural match at Murphy Gymnasium on Sunday, topping Mercyhurst North East, 32-15. The grapplers in Royal and Gold won seven (7) bouts and are now 2-0 on the season in dual meets.
Justin Tripp (Fr/Cleveland, OH) earned a major decision (13-0) at 197 as did Jason Spencer (Fr/Newbury, OH) at 157 (10-1). Other contributors for the Falcons included Brett Freeman (Fr/Burton, OH) at 141 and Nick Terifaj (Fr/Strongsville, OH) at HWT.
The event was the first held at the Falcons home, Murphy Gymnasium, where the fledgling program will take on three (3) other opponents this season. The Falcons return to action next Saturday, December 16, at Ashland, for a triple-duel meet.
