NDC one up, two down in Kentucky
Falcons go 1-2 in quad-state triple dual meet

Campbellsville, KY – The Notre Dame Wrestling Falcons traveled to Campbellsville, KY on Saturday, January 20, to take part in a triple dual meet with Campbellsville University (KY), the University of Indianaplois, and King College (TN). The Falcons earned one victory and two losses on the day to run their season record to 4-4.

NDC started the day by dropping a 14-24 decision to Indianapolis. The Falcons then defeated King College, 26-15, before falling to the host Campbellsville Tigers, 13-29.

Cory Braden (Fr/Norwalk, OH) led the way for the grapplers in Royal and Gold by posting a 3-0 record on the day. Braden, wrestling at 174, picked up decisions of 6-1 and 6-2 against against his Indianapolis and King counterparts. He then pinned John Lowery (Sr/Lewisville, OH) in his bout against Campbellsville. With the three bouts won, Braden runs is season record to 10-8.

Jason Spencer (So/Newbury, OH) also contributed for the Falcons, who won 13 of 30 bouts on the day. Spencer pinned the Indianapolis Greyhounds' Danny Norman (Sr/New Palestine, IN) and then earned a 16-1 tech. fall against King College's Martin Erickson (Fr/Virginia Beach, VA). Spencer then lost a decision against Campbellsville. The sophomore Falcon grappler ran his record to 9-7 on the season and earned eight team points on the day in Campbellsville.

The Falcons travel back to Campbellsville on Saturday, January 27, for another triple dual meet.
