The financial aid office at Notre Dame College encourages students to pursue outside scholarships to assist in meeting educational expenses. Outside scholarships are awarded and funded by businesses, private agencies, and other groups and organizations. They may be awarded for a wide variety of reasons, including academic performance, volunteerism, pursuit of a major, leadership, or other talents.

Throckmorton Scholarship: Applicant must be African-American or Native American and must provide a brief statement addressing: why you should be considered, your future goals, college major/minor, needs, and extracurricular activities.

Americans of Italian Heritage Scholarship: The selection committee is seeking to award well-rounded students who can demonstrate their dedication and commitment to continuing their education and who are in financial need. Mansfield Noon Optimist Scholarship: Applicants must have a permanent home address in Richland County, be entering at least their third year of college this fall, and have at least a 2.5 GPA. (Deadline: June 1, 2013)

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program: Respond to the following in an essay between 500 and 1000 words: What have you done outside the classroom that demonstrates qualities sought after by the post secondary institution that you are hoping to attend? AES Engineering Services Scholarship: Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. Silver Cross Ability Achievement Scholarship: All applicants must meet the following requirements: (1) Must be enrolled at an accredited college or university within the United States or Canada as an undergraduate or graduate student, (2) Must complete at least one full year of college/university, (3) Must use a manual wheelchair, power wheelchair, or mobility scooter (exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis), (4) Must obtain a minimum 3.0 GPA, (5) Must be a legal resident of the United States or Canada or hold a valid student visa.
