Basic Course
Freshman & Sophomore Level Courses:
- No Service Obligation
- Instructions that will benefit you in school,
civilian occupation, and/or military..ie. leadership
time management and organizing skills
- Opportunities to participate in local and national the
events, field trips, and adventure training
Advance Course
Junior & Senior Level Courses:
- Committed to joining the Army as a Commissioned Officer upon graduation
- Attend a 35 day leadership course in thesummer (usually the summer before -- senior year)
- Plan and conduct training for juniors

Scholarship Quick Facts
Award: 4, 3 ½, 3, 2 ½, & 2 year scholarships available, if qualified.
Tuition and Benefits:
- Full Tuition and Mandatory Fees
- Personal Stipend - $300, $350, $400, & $500 (10 months per year)
- Book Stipend - $900 per year
Added Incentives: Free Room and Board Provided by Notre Dame College

Scholarship Considerations
College Cumulative Grade Point Average - Minimum 2.5
ACT - Minimum 19
SAT - Minimum 920
Physical Fitness - Must pass height/weight standards
and pass a physical fitness test
Medical Condition - Must be medically qualified
Commitment
While in College:
- Military Science Class (1 - 2 hours per week)
- Leadership Lab: Hands-on leaderships and basic Army
- skills training (2 hours per week) *
- Physical Training (2 hours per week) *
- Field Training (1 weekend per semester) *
- 35-day Leadership & Assessment Course between junior and senior year
* optional for freshmen students
After College: Upon graduation from college, each ROTC student receives a commission as a Second Lieutenant. The student may serve in US Army (Active Duty, full-time) or in the US Army Reserve / National Guard (part-time).
- The total commitment is eight years, consisting of either:
ACTIVE DUTY - Four years active and four years reserve / inactive reserve
RESERVE DUTY- Eight years active reserve duty (one weekend per month, 2 weeks a year)

Active Duty Pay and Benefits
National average salary of college graduates (non-science majors): $37,000 & $39,500
- Takes home 77% of income after taxes
Second Lieutenant in the US Army salary (under two years of service): $46,500
- Take home 87% of income after taxes

Pay increases annually - reaches $66,500 after four years.
