Lisa Schonberg currently teaches art and art education classes at Notre Dame College. Lisa earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Ohio University in 1976 majoring in art education and a Masters of Fine Arts from Kent State University in 1984, majoring in printmaking. Her teaching career includes 5 years of teaching art in grades 6-12, 1 year as an intern in the education department of the Cleveland Museum of Art and 21 years teaching college.
As an artist, Lisa uses various printmaking processes along with an excitement for nature and ancient writing as a means of producing mono prints. At present, Lisa is combining hand cut stencils of tree forms with abstract latter forms as the basis for her large multi-layered printed images. |
Her work has been exhibited regionally in galleries, schools and museums, most notably at The Notre Dame College Performing Arts Center, Thrive Gallery (previously Galleria), Mandel Jewish Community Center, The orange Art Center, Gates Mills City Hall, The Cleveland Garden Center (now the Cleveland Botanical Gardens), The Fairmount Center for the Arts, Bonfoey Art Gallery, The Mansfield Art Center, and at many more locations since 1985.
