Each year during spring break, Notre Dame students, faculty, alumni, staff, and friends travel together to various overseas destinations. Students may earn academic credit for the trips, which serve as a supplement to classroom learning and build a sense of community.

Bienvenue! Paris greets you today. Relax and become acquainted with this beautiful city's cobblestoned streets, quaint cafés and lively neighborhoods.

This morning a guided sightseeing tour shows you Paris' most famous sites such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Place de la Concorde and the bustling Champs-Elysées. Stop for a photograph in front of Paris' most famous site of all, the Eiffel Tower, and learn the history of this once not-so-popular attraction before continuing to Notre Dame. In the afternoon discover the Louvre, the largest and most famous museum in the world. View artistic masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa, the Winged Victory and the Venus de Milo, and perhaps discover a less-famous piece that becomes your favorite. (B,D)

This morning enjoy a trip to Louis XIV's Palace of Versailles. Tour the Hall of Mirrors before exploring the beautifully maintained gardens. Then return to Paris and ascend to the third floor of the Eiffel Tower for views over this magnificent city. (B,D)

Enjoy a walking tour with your tour manager around the beautifual Marais district of Paris . The Marais is now one of Paris' main localities for art galleries. Following its rehabilitation, the Marais has become a fashionable district, home to many trendy restaurants, fashion houses, and hype galleries. This afternoon stroll along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées or people watch in one of the many cafes. (B,D)

This morning journey to Avignon on the high-speed TGV. View the imposing Papal Palace and the nearby Pont du Gard. Continue to Nîmes, a city full of Roman history and known for textiles. See the Roman Arena in this city from which denim, the fabric of blue jeans, derives its name. (B,D)

Today visit Aigues-Mortes, known for its authentic medieval ramparts before continuing on to Nice, the Côte d'Azur's cosmopolitan capital. (B,D)

Enjoy an orientation tour of Nice with your tour manager this morning. See the city's many sights before continuing to the hilltop village of Saint-Paul de Vence, home of the painter Marc Chagall. (B,D)

This morning visit the perched village of Eze with its castle ruins and steep streets. Tour the Fragonard Perfume Factory, and visit the fragrant Jardin Exotique. Then continue along the corniche to Monaco, glamorous residence of the rich and famous and home of the Grimaldi royal family. Spend your last afternoon on the Riviera, relaxing and enjoying the sun.
