Twelve greater Cleveland printmakers will exhibit sixty prints and present a gallery talk in Notre Dame’s Performing Center beginning with a reception from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on September 11th. Printing techniques range from traditional woodcut and intaglio to experimental monoprint and paper lithography. Printmakers will be on hand September 26 from noon to 1:00 p.m. to talk about their work. The Notre Dame Art Department is pleased to present "Stronger Than You Think" a show of recent work by senior Studio Art major Rachel Schneider. “Stronger Than You Think“ explores the concept of women as fragile yet strong, emphasizing the issue of domestic violence, with a series of dress sculptures created with clay, paper, and cloth. Rachel Schneider, will have her reception at the same time and location as the All-Student Show. The All-Student Show has been organized by the Notre Dame College Art Club and is open to any current student at Notre Dame College. Awards given will be First Place, Second Place, Third Place and the Art Club Award. The awards will be presented during the opening reception at 6:00 p.m.

The first All Student Show has been organized by the Notre Dame College Art Club and is open to any current student at Notre Dame College. You do not have to be an art major to enter. This is the first student only show and all the cash awards will be selected by two jurors, both professional artists that were selected by the Art Club to jury the show.
The awards given will be First Place, Second Place, Third Place and the Art Club Award. These will be cash awards but in addition there will be certificates given for Honorable Mentions. The awards will be presented by Art Club President Greg Clawson on April 26 during the opening reception at 6:00 p.m. All Student Art Show |

Notre Dame College’s Art Department is pleased to present photographs and video installation by artist Honey Lazar entitled “The Portable Universe.” The exhibit includes twenty photographs, a handmade book and video installation. The photographs document the stories of women from around the world from birth to death through the common theme of what they carry with them each day and throughout their lives. Notre Dame College’s art department will host an exhibit of 100 portraits by Cleveland native Barbara Krahe Powers in conjunction with the production, An Then They Came for Me, a Holocaust related multi-media play about the lives of Eva Geiringer Schloss and her family during WW II.

Notre Dame College students enrolled in creative writing classes and graphic design classes this semester have the opportunity to create visual and verbal counterpoints to the Moving Minds: Verse and Vision Project initiated by the Poets’ and Writers’ League. From February 2nd to March 16th the first twelve posters created by Greater Cleveland poets and designed by the American Institute of Graphic Arts Cleveland Chapter will be on display in Notre Dame College’s Performing Arts Center. MOVING MINDS: VERSE AND VISION PROJECT February 2 to March 16, 2006 The collaboration between the RTA and the Poets’ and Writers’ League of Greater Cleveland just got bigger! Notre Dame College students will display their own interpretations along side the original RTA posters from March 1st until March 16th. The collaboration and interpretation will culminate with an evening of poetry on March 14th in the Performing Arts Center from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The evening line-up of poets includes faculty, students and invited guest poets. The evening of readings and refreshments is free and open to the public. |

Ed Beyer, an award-winning pastel artist, will present drawings based on his observations of the landscape and lake views around Northeast Ohio beginning October 28th with a reception. A resident of Bay Village, Beyer creates moody vistas of cloud-filled skies and calm waters. Myriad shades of lavender, orange, aqua and green infuse his sunsets with warmth and intrigue. His scenes of farmlands and woodlands are familiar yet comforting. Barns and silos break the flat expanses of green fields revealing Beyer’s love of earth, sky and water. EARTH, WATER, AND SKY OCTOBER 28th TO DECEMBER 9TH 2004
