Notre Dame College Announces New RN to BSN Program

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio—28 July 2006—Notre Dame College (NDC) has announced its new Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program for registered nurses. The RN to BSN Program is designed to allow the practicing nurse to build upon his or her knowledge and experience through flexible scheduling and innovative coursework. Credit is given for prior nursing experience and coursework. Individualized and flexible clinical options make this program ideal for nurses preparing for advancement in their field for graduate studies in specialty areas.

The mission of the RN to BSN Program is to prepare today’s professional nurse who must be responsive to the health needs of a diverse global society. Unique learning options are offered through courses that address global issues such as Health Policy, International Nursing in Developing Countries, and Complimentary Alternative Health Care. In the RN to BSN Program, the nursing student will experience the personal touch that is a hallmark of Notre Dame College. NDC’s small class sizes and free tutoring services provide students with the support they need to be successful. Web-enhanced coursework is also available for busy students.

Notre Dame College’s RN to BSN Program is built on a liberal arts foundation, preparing the RN to act as an advocate for underserved and vulnerable populations. The College actively promotes a culture of diversity within the student body while fostering cultural competence in the care of clients throughout the lifespan. Systems theory and complex adaptive systems serve are the theoretical framework of the curriculum. Credit is available for certification in critical care (CCRN or CEN) or gerontology (ANCC).
