New Programs for Adults at Notre Dame College

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio—9 August 2006--The fall semester brings some big changes to Notre Dame College (NDC), all geared to help adult students balance family, work and school demands. The 28-year old Weekend College Program (WECO) has been reconfigured so students will be able to earn their degrees even faster than before, without compromising the small class environment and personal attention that have been hallmarks of the program. WECO classes still meet on Friday evening and all day Saturday, but will be held every week instead of on alternate weekends. Each term is just seven weeks long instead of 12 under the original format. Classes will meet three consecutive weekends, skip one week, and meet the next three weekends, giving students a break in the middle of each term. The new format will be a great advantage to the student who wants to earn his or her degree on the fast track. The new terms are also aligned with semester classes, allowing students to easily add evening courses to their schedule if they wish. Weekend College offers bachelor’s degrees in a variety of business disciplines and psychology. The next WECO term begins September 8.

New this fall, registered nurses can earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at Notre Dame College. This will benefit nurses who want to advance in their professions or prepare for graduate studies. They are eligible to receive credit from previous nursing experience and coursework. The unique offerings include courses such as Health Policy and International Nursing in Developing Countries. For convenience the College has scheduled classes to meet on alternate Tuesdays in the early evening, supplemented with web-enhanced instruction. Students can take advantage of individualized, flexible clinical options. Classes begin August 28.
