Notre Dame College Dedicates Legacy Walkway

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio—7 October 2005 – Notre Dame College (NDC) will dedicate its new Legacy Walkway and Quinlivan Circle Sunday, October 16 at 12:30 p.m. The walkway, on the College’s front lawn, will connect six buildings that face the lawn and honor donor alumni, friends, faculty and staff. More than 700 engraved donor bricks will be unveiled at the ceremony.

The walkways converge in the center, forming a circle named in memory of Dr. Frances M. Quinlivan, longtime professor of English at Notre Dame College. Born in 1902, Quinlivan taught English Literature at the NDC from 1925 until 1971 and chaired the English Department beginning in 1948. According to Carol L. Carbary, vice president of College Advancement, “Quinnie was known for her dynamism and ability to help students become critical thinkers as well as writers and poets. Her students still think of her as one of the greatest role models in their lives. She honored the College with 45 years of dedicated service and now we are honoring her.”
