“The Heart-Centered Musician” Conference
at Notre Dame College

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio—12 May 2006— Notre Dame College and the Music for Healing and Transition Program announce “The Heart-Centered Musician” Conference, which will take place at Notre Dame College, South Euclid, Ohio from Thursday evening, June 1 to Sunday afternoon, June 4.

The Conference brings together pioneers in the field of therapeutic music and vibrational sound therapy, practitioners of therapeutic music, and medicine and healing. Anyone interested in how music can enhance wellness and healthcare is welcome to attend.

The primary Conference presenters are harpist, singer and composer Therese Schroeder-Sheker, who founded the palliative-medical field of music-thanatology and the Chalice of Repose Project. She is joined by musician, composer, acupuncturist and founder of Vibrational Sound Therapy Fabien Maman, Richard Fratianne, MD, Director Emeritus, The Comprehensive Burn Clinic, MetroHealth, Cleveland, and Sarah Weiss, Medical Intuitive, practitioner of energy medicine and Creator of The SpiritHeal Institute.

As part of the Conference, Fabien Maman will conduct an unusual, one-of- a kind concert, entitled A Cosmic Seasonal Harmonizing Concert. It is presented for the general public on Saturday evening at 8PM in the Performing Arts Center at Notre Dame. Maman draws on sacred Chinese, Greek and Indian traditions to create an improvisation that is informed by the energy of the season, and utilizing specific modes, instruments and rhythms. Since the strings are the instrument for the summer in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the concert will feature more than 50 harpists, all of whom will be participating in the Conference.

Day passes for the Conference, as well as admission to individual sessions will be available for the public. For more information, please see the Music for Healing and Transition Program website www.mhtp.org, email mhtp@bcn.net or call 518-325-5546.
