Notre Dame College Site of Diversity Series

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio--30 January 2004—Notre Dame College will host “Insights and Illuminations,” a series of community-building discussions for the Hillcrest suburbs. The Heights Community Congress, Cuyahoga County Planning Department, and Notre Dame’s Tolerance Resource Center are sponsoring the series with the participation of Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Richmond Heights and South Euclid. The program is part of an ongoing plan called Community Connections created to nurture hope and peace in the community and to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the region. Martha Goble, executive director of Heights Community Congress stated, "We are pleased to see issues addressed about diversity in neighboring communities. This enhances our work at HCC."

Residents of the communities are invited to attend thought-provoking presentations and join discussions about cultural and ethnic differences. The purpose of the program is to help the citizens feel more connected with their communities and with one another through better understanding and appreciation of their differences. Community leaders, educators, business owners, religious and civic organizations will participate in the programs.

The sessions take place in Notre Dame College’s Performing Arts Center on the following dates:

• Wednesday, February 18;
• Tuesday, March 9; and
• Tuesday, March 23.

All sessions are from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Programs and parking are free of charge, and there will be refreshments. Call Heights Community Congress at 216.321.6775 for reservations or additional information. Space is limited.
