Notre Dame College Presents Commonweal Magazine Speaker

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio—29 January 2007—Notre Dame College and Commonweal Magazine present Dr. George Dennis O’Brien on Tuesday, February 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the College’s Performing Arts Center. A noted author, educator and former college president who writes and speaks about Catholic identity in contemporary higher education, Dr. O’Brien will address the question, “Is a Catholic College Possible?”

Dr. O’Brien is past president of Bucknell University and the University of Rochester. The author of The Idea of a Catholic University and All the Essential Half-Truths about Higher Education, he is a frequent contributor to Commonweal Magazine. He comes to Notre Dame College through the courtesy of Commonweal Magazine’s Speakers Program, made possible thanks to a generous gift from James H. Duffy.
