Notre Dame College Holds Free Workshops for Adult Students
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio—30 March 2009—Notre Dame College is holding free workshops to help neighboring adult students who want to go to college, or return to finish a degree. The workshops are designed to help navigate the intricacies of the application and financial aid processes. The first workshop, “Navigating Financial Aid as an Adult Student,” takes place Saturday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m.
The session provides basic financial aid information for adults. Filing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the first time can be intimidating. Both admissions and financial aid personnel will provide information in a free and unbiased format. Attendees will learn how to begin the FAFSA process and how to apply for a FAFSA pin number. It will cover the vocabulary used by colleges when determining aid, and will define loans, scholarships, and grants. The first in a series of informational workshops for adult students, this Financial Aid Workshop will highlight frequently asked questions as well as provide assistance with the initial application.
According to Margaret Oakar, director of adult and graduate admissions, “The workshop is offered free of charge as a service primarily to adults in the community surrounding Notre Dame College, demonstrating the College’s mission of responsibility for serving others and sharing resources. Of course, adults from other areas may attend.”
Notre Dame College is located at 4545 College Road in South Euclid. The workshop will be held in the Administration Building.
Seating is limited and reservations are required. Call 216.373.5173 for information or to reserve your place.
