Notre Dame Athletics Launches New Website

SOUTH EUCLID,Ohio—15 December 2008— Following the Falcons just got easier, faster, and more functional. The Notre Dame College Department of Athletics is pleased to introduce the new official home of Falcon Athletics: NotreDameFalcons.com. The new website features a dynamic and streamlined navigation, interactive polls, a free newsletter, free SMS (short message service) text alerts, and more.
“We’re excited about the launch of NotreDameFalcons.com,” said director of athletics Susan Hlavacek. “We have a lot of recent success stories to share, about our teams and student-athletes, on and off the field. We believe this new website is a dynamic and effective vehicle for telling those stories.”
The move to update the NDC website is part of an overall initiative to better define and present Notre Dame Falcon Athletics as a brand. The Notre Dame Office of Sports Information worked with Syracuse, N.Y.-based Internet Consulting Services (ICS) in the development of the College’s official athletics website. Earlier in the fall, the Department of Athletics unveiled a new Falcon logo and set of associated images and wordmarks.
“ICS has been great to work with,” said NDC sports information director Skip Snow. “Their software is designed for use by our staff in a way that allows us to maximize the way we communicate event recaps, news, and statistics. We want to provide a detailed and timely presentation of all of our athletic teams and student-athletes. This site and the software backing it up are tools that allow us to do that.”
Hlavacek also indicated that the new online home of the Falcons will also be a platform for other upcoming features, marketing opportunities, and emerging technologies in the way college sports are presented.

Notre Dame College is a co-educational liberal arts institution in South Euclid, Ohio.
