Sandra Pianalto to Address Notre Dame College Graduates
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio—13 May 2006—Sandra Pianalto, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, will deliver the keynote address at Notre Dame College’s 82nd commencement at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13 at the Regina H. S. Auditorium in South Euclid. Ms. Pianalto will also be awarded the honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree at the ceremony.
Ms. Pianalto’s tenure with the Bank spans more than 20 years. She joined the Bank in 1983 as an economist in the Research Department. She has also held the positions of vice president of public affairs, vice president and secretary to the board of directors, and first vice president and chief operating officer. She assumed her position as president in 2003.
Before joining the Bank, Ms. Pianalto was an economist at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and served on the staff of the Budget Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Ms. Pianalto is active in the civic community, serving on the boards of directors of many community organizations, including The Cleveland Foundation, the Greater Cleveland Partnership, University Hospitals Health System, United Way Services of Cleveland, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education, the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Foundation, and the Ohio Business Alliance for Higher Education and the Economy.
