Coming Home to the Heart of Notre Dame

Alumni and friends returned to the heart of Notre Dame for a Mass celebrated by the Most Reverend Richard G. Lennon, Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, on Sunday, October 5, 2008 to dedicate a new altar installed during the College’s year long Renewal of Christ the King Chapel.

The liturgical celebration marked the culmination of a campaign that stirred memories of alumni and friends, and renewed their ties to Notre Dame. “Projects like this strike a sentimental chord, and the response we received was overwhelming,” said Karen Poelking, vice president for community relations & special assistant to the president for advancement. “We heard from many supporters that they wanted to share their special experiences in the Chapel with others. They were truly honored to be part of the Chapel renewal.”
