In his last letter for Notre Dame Today, retiring College President Andrew P. Roth, Ph.D., reflects on why he came to Notre Dame 11 years ago and what has been discovered─and with whom─in all that time.

Just as graduation is the culmination of a student’s Notre Dame College career, this year’s ceremonies also marked the conclusion of a president’s tenure. As Notre Dame College President Andrew P. Roth, Ph.D., neared retirement, he presided over commencement for the 90th class at the College—and was acknowledged with an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degree.

Under the direction of Notre Dame College President Andrew P. Roth, Ph.D., the College has not only grown in size and scope but emerged as a leader of learning among its peers. As Dr. Roth retires in 2014, Notre Dame celebrates the campus as he has uncovered it and the transformative tradition the College community has become.
