Class of 1956 Together Again

On October 15, 2006, members of Notre Dame College’s Class of 1956 came together once again at the home of Audrey Hubeny Dvorak ‘56 in Gates Mills, Ohio.

History will remember these women as members of the Silent Generation, children born in the heart of the Great Depression, raised during World War II, and witnesses to seminal moments in America during the 20th century. Now, 50 years after their graduation from the College, the women came from as far away as St. Louis, Missouri to celebrate a lifetime of friendships formed during their years at Notre Dame.

The event began with a champagne toast followed by some 50’s music and recordings of radio shows. Photos from the Notre Dame’s Archives were displayed among the blue and gold decorations, and a tape of the College’s Alma Mater was played for the guests.

It was a day of nostalgia shared by women connected by a common bond of collegiate friendship who will certainly cherish the memories of that day.
