Building on its historic strength in the sciences, Notre Dame College’s Bachelor of Science in Biology has been named a Choose Ohio First STEMM Program of Innovation and been awarded $60,000 a year to fund scholarships.

NCAA

Notre Dame College has been approved for full-fledged Division II status in the NCAA. Most of NDC’s 22 athletic programs will compete as independents in 2012-13. Falcon football, soccer, wrestling and women’s lacrosse will compete in the GLIAC.

Rugby

Notre Dame College will add women’s and men’s rugby as intercollegiate club team sports. The first group of rugby enthusiasts will enroll this fall and be ready for competition during the 2012/13 academic year. Scholarships are available.

College Hires VP for Academic, Student Affairs

Notre Dame College has selected Dr. Nicholas R. Santilli as its next vice president for academic and student affairs. Dr. Santilli is coming to Notre Dame from John Carroll University. He will assume his responsibilities on July 15.

Art on the NDC Circle

As summer arrives, the picturesque Notre Dame College campus will once again be the stage for the College’s fine arts show as well as several weekends of theatre including performances of "Cats," "Henry VIII" and "As You Like It."

Falcons

Notre Dame College has named Scott Swain as its new director of athletics. Effective July 1, the Columbus native will assume responsibility for the College's 22 athletic teams, 37 coaches and more than 700 student-athletes.

College Receives $500,000 for Buildings, Construction

Notre Dame has received a $500,000 donation for building and construction initiatives. This is the second gift of half a million dollars the College has received in the past two months. They are the two largest non-bequest gifts in NDC history.

Band Indoor Programs Defy Expectations

The Notre Dame Band ended its 2012 indoor season in grand style. Both the indoor colorguard and the indoor percussion ensemble defied expectations and finished the season with extraordinary performances at the MEPA and WGI championships.

Notre Dame College will award its highest honor, the 2012 Notre Dame College Medal, to Beth E. Mooney, the chairman, chief executive officer and president of KeyCorp, at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven on Friday, June 8.

Natalie Strouse

Notre Dame College would like to congratulate Associate Professor of Business Administration Natalie Strouse, who was named “Best College Advisor” by the Northeast Ohio Council on Higher Education during NOCHE’s 2012 Expys Awards.
