Notre Dame College Calls for Candidates for New Athletic Hall of Fame

Notre Dame College is accepting nominations of former students with distinguished performance records in their sports for its newly established Athletic Hall of Fame.

In addition to students, the campus community can nominate coaches, athletic trainers, administrators, faculty, support staff and others who have made significant contributions to Notre Dame athletics.

Recommendations of candidates for charter membership in the Hall of Fame are due June 15. The inaugural class will be announced during Homecoming Weekend October 4-6.

Student nominees must have participated in at least two full seasons of intercollegiate competition, have been in good academic standing and have graduated from the College.

Established this year by the College’s Department of Athletics and Athletic External Relations Board, the Notre Dame Athletic Hall Of Fame will recognize, honor and perpetuate the memory of individuals who have made outstanding contributions to sports at the College and have helped bring excellence to Notre Dame and its intercollegiate athletic program.

A committee appointed by Director of Athletics Scott Swain will select the first cohort of candidates for enshrinement in the hall. An induction ceremony will be conducted on campus during the College’s Homecoming Weekend, Friday, October 4, through Sunday, October 6. Details are forthcoming.

Nominations for the inaugural class can be made using the online form at www.NotreDameCollege.edu/AthleticHallOfFame.

Contact Swain at 216.373.6365 or sswain@ndc.edu with questions about the Hall of Fame or the nomination and selection process.
