Notre Dame College students are setting the standard for how intelligence agencies understand and exploit social media in analyzing international security incidents─and they are sharing their best practices with regional terrorism and criminal justice experts.

Notre Dame College (NDC), in partnership with the City of South Euclid, is calling for artists to present their works in the third annual Art on the NDC Circle.

The event is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 22, and is part of a weekend of fine arts at the College that includes theatrical performances by the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival and Mercury Summer Stock Theatre.

Notre Dame College’s international, educational travel destination for 2014 will be the birthplace of Picasso and flamenco dance─Spain─and the world’s once-greatest maritime empire─Portugal.

Next year’s spring break trip, February 27 through March 8, 2014, will feature the modernist architect Gaudi’s famous cathedral, La Sagrada Familia, and nightlife in the Catalonia capital of Barcelona, the Prado museum in Madrid and a gothic cathedral and medieval synagogue in Toledo and the Roman ruins of Merida, all in Spain.

The Notre Dame College Department of Performing Arts Indoor Ensembles continued their dominance at WGI (Winter Guard International) World Championships over the past two weekends. WGI is the international sanctioning competitive organization that represents the final and highest level of competition in the Indoor Marching Arts activity for units across the globe.

The Notre Dame College Indoor Performance Ensembles have begun their championship season in grand fashion by winning the gold medal in their respective competitive classes at the Mid-East Performance Ensemble (MEPA) Circuit Championships in Dayton, Ohio.

The Notre Dame College Clara Fritzsche Library will host “Fabrics of a New Life,” an exhibition of quilts by native Clevelander Julius J. Bremer April 18 through May 28.

An opening reception will be held in the library from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18. the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

While this exhibition is Bremer’s first solo show, his individual works have been on display at the DuSable Museum in Chicago─America’s foremost museum of African American history─and in several Northeast Ohio locales.

On Friday, March 22, the Office of Student Financial Assistance will host two Student Loan Repayment Information Sessions.  They will be held in the Great Room, located on the third floor of the College’s Administration Building, at noon and 5 p.m.

Students and parents are invited to come and get all of their questions answered by an experienced lender.  Very important information will be presented, and the following topics will be included.

To accommodate a record number of graduates and preserve the individual attention that is a hallmark of a Notre Dame College education, the College’s commencement ceremonies for 2013 will take place over two days─Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5.

Also for the first time, all aspects of the graduation celebration will take place on the South Euclid campus.

A total of more than 250 students are expected to graduate at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year compared to about 160 last year.

Notre Dame College students are offering free tax preparation for low-income Cuyahoga County residents again this year.

Students at the College are positively impacting the community by filing federal and state income tax forms for those who cannot afford account services or software packages. Last year, 535 tax returns were filed on campus by the College students in an effort to save residents money—not only with free tax preparation, but also with increased refunds from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The Notre Dame College Department of Bands is hosting its second annual dinner and raffle fundraiser from 6-11 p.m. March 22.

The event, held at Normandy Catering Center, 30310 Palisades Parkway in Wickliffe, Ohio, will include a basket raffle, a 50/50 drawing, sideboard games and other auction opportunities. Games will be played all night, with many opportunities to win prizes and cash.
