To accommodate a record number of graduates and preserve the individual attention that is a hallmark of a Notre Dame College education, the College’s commencement ceremonies for 2013 will take place over two days─Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5.

Also for the first time, all aspects of the graduation celebration will take place on the South Euclid campus.

A total of more than 250 students are expected to graduate at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year compared to about 160 last year.

Notre Dame College students are offering free tax preparation for low-income Cuyahoga County residents again this year.

Students at the College are positively impacting the community by filing federal and state income tax forms for those who cannot afford account services or software packages. Last year, 535 tax returns were filed on campus by the College students in an effort to save residents money—not only with free tax preparation, but also with increased refunds from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The Notre Dame College Department of Bands is hosting its second annual dinner and raffle fundraiser from 6-11 p.m. March 22.

The event, held at Normandy Catering Center, 30310 Palisades Parkway in Wickliffe, Ohio, will include a basket raffle, a 50/50 drawing, sideboard games and other auction opportunities. Games will be played all night, with many opportunities to win prizes and cash.

The Notre Dame College community, led by its Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), is pledging 40 days of service throughout the 40 days of Lent.

SAAC and the College’s 22 athletic teams are partnering with campus offices and organizations across campus to conduct at least one fundraising event each day during the Christian season of Lent, observed this year from Ash Wednesday, Feb. 13, through Easter Sunday, March 31.

Notre Dame College is offering a nine-week personal training certification course to prepare students and professionals for careers in the fitness industry.

Notre Dame College’s teacher education programs have been recognized by the Ohio Board of Regents for meeting and exceeding several state performance metrics.

The Notre Dame Wrestling Falcons have been a national powerhouse in small-college wrestling for several years. But the 2010 and 2011 NAIA and 2012 National Collegiate Wrestling Association national champions are now officially on the radar of NCAA Division II coaches, fans and media outlets.

Notre Dame College students and faculty will present the play “The Laramie Project” at 7 p.m. March 19, 21 and 23 in the Performing Arts Center on the ground floor of the College’s Administration Building.

The theatre production, written by Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project, features more than 200 interviews and direct testimonials from the citizens of Laramie, Wyo., in the wake of the beating death of Matthew Shepard, a homosexual student.

Notre Dame College’s Clara Fritzsche Library will host “The Storyteller,” a showing of paintings, portraits, masks and jewelry by Cleveland artist Anna Arnold from February 14 through March 22. The exhibit opens with a reception from 6-8 p.m. February 14 in the library.

The exhibit and opening reception are free to the public.
