Notre Dame Gives Away $40,000 Scholarship at The FEST

Notre Dame College has been a proud sponsor of The FEST for several years now. But for the first time this year, NDC is celebrating the one-day, Catholic, family festival in Wickliffe, Ohio, with a $40,000 scholarship giveaway.

One lucky, future Notre Dame College student will win $10,000 in scholarships per academic year for all four years he or she attends NDC. The scholarship can be used for a fulltime undergraduate student who is granted admission to Notre Dame. It is valid for a beginning term of enrollment in 2013, 2014 or 2015.

To enter for a chance to win the Notre Dame College FEST Scholarship, visit www.NotreDameCollege.edu/admissions/the-fest/Inquiry and fill out the contact form. The winner will be announced on stage at The FEST on Sunday, Aug. 5.

“As one of the main sponsors of The FEST, Notre Dame College is proud to award this major scholarship to a fortunate and deserving student,” said Beth Ford, Notre Dame’s dean of admissions and financial aid. “It is a great way for us to recognize our College's 90th anniversary and celebrate our commitment to helping students pursue their goals at a faith-based institution at a time when economic issues are a major concern to many students and families.”

Named as one of the best Midwest colleges by U.S. News and World Report, NDC offers more than 30 career-focused undergraduate and graduate academic programs including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, bachelor and master degrees in education, and a Master of Arts in Security Policy Studies. The College is also home to the nationally recognized Academic Support Center for Students with Learning Differences.

Notre Dame College offers 22 intercollegiate men’s and women’s sports, and is a member of the NCAA Division II. Its countless extracurricular activities also include cheerleading, choir, marching band and theatre, all of which offer scholarship opportunities.

Notre Dame is one of the most diverse colleges in Ohio. One fourth of NDC’s students are minority students and nearly half of them are not Catholic. They come from 20 different states and a dozen different countries. Notre Dame is an opportunity college as half of its students are the first in their families to go to college.

The opportunity to attend NDC with a $40,000 scholarship in hand will be given to one lucky student at The FEST on Aug. 5.

Hosted by the Diocese of Cleveland on the grounds of the Center for Pastoral Leadership at 28700 Euclid Ave. in Wickliffe, Ohio, The FEST attracts more than 35,000 people every year. It features live Christian bands, games, BMX shows, kids’ areas, tents with local vendors, giveaways, festival foods, and opportunities for prayer. The highlight of the day is an outdoor mass shared by thousands at 8 p.m., followed by fireworks.

Notre Dame College is located at 4545 College Road in South Euclid. For further information contact Brian Johnston, chief communications officer, at 216.373.5252 or bjohnston@ndc.edu.
