Notre Dame, City of South Euclid Invite Artists to the Circle

Notre Dame College and the City of South Euclid invite artists to display and sell their work at the second annual “Art on the NDC Circle” event on Saturday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Exhibit your artwork surrounded by the beauty of Notre Dame College’s serene and picturesque campus; and be a part of NDC’s fine arts weekend that includes theatrical performances of the “As You Like It” by the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival and “Cats” by Mercury Summer Stock Theater.

Entry applications can be submitted online at NotreDameCollege.edu/ArtOnTheCircle, or printed and mailed to: Notre Dame College, 4545 College Road, South Euclid, Ohio, 44121, Attention: Karen Poelking.

All entries must be received by Wednesday, May 9. Acceptance and rejection notices will be sent out via e-mail no later than Friday, May 18. The decision of the screening committee will be final.

Accepted entries will receive an exhibitor contract. A $50 exhibitor fee will be included with the contract. Electricity, tables and chairs are available on a limited basis for an additional $10 each. They will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis and will be included on the exhibitor contract.

No more than one 10-by-10-foot space per artist is available. Use of the space is restricted to the artist whose name appears on the entry application. Noncompliance will result in disqualification. Specific booth location requests cannot be guaranteed.

Media

Ceramics, drawing, enamel, fiber, glass, graphics, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting (oil, acrylic, pastels, watercolor), paper, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood, creative holography, and xerography are acceptable. 

All art must be produced, priced and signed by the artist. All paintings, drawings and graphics must be framed, matted or displayed tastefully in a portfolio and appropriate stand. 

Digital images of current work and booth may be submitted with your application via a non-returnable CD or e-mail. The size of your images should not exceed one megabyte, 72 DPI, and 1024 pixels wide by 768 pixels high. They must be of SRGH color profile. If you have a website where work can be viewed, please include the URL on the application.

General Information

1. Notre Dame College reserves the right to remove objectionable art from the exhibit.

2. Tents (10’ x 10’) are required and are the responsibility of each artist.

3. Each exhibitor is responsible for his/her own display area, which must fit within the 10’ x 10’ space and be strong enough to withstand wind and rain.

4. Each exhibitor will take care of his/her own sales receipts and tax. The current sales tax in Cuyahoga County is 7.75 percent and must be collected.

5. No commission fee is charged.

6. Each exhibitor must provide his/her own table coverings.

7. All exhibitors are required to carry their own liability insurance as Notre Dame College assumes no liability for damage, theft or injury on premises.

8. Installation and dismantling of exhibits: Set up will take place on Saturday, June 23, between 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Exhibitors must agree that setup will not obstruct the view or otherwise block or interfere with another’s exhibit. Dismantling of exhibits may not begin before 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 23.

Awards and Judging

Prize money will be awarded according to the decision of the judges. Prize money is awarded for first, second and third choice as well as best looking booth. Prizes will be awarded without regard to artistic category and the decision of the judges is final. All artists accepted into the show are eligible for prize money. The artist must maintain his/her booth during all open hours to be eligible for prizes. Prizes are as follows:

First Choice: $350
Second Choice: $250
Third Choice: $150
Best Looking Booth: $100
