Program to Bring 500 Teachers to NDC

Notre Dame College will host a major workshop for middle school and high school teachers, AP coordinators and school administrators on Thursday, Oct. 11. Sponsored by College Board, the program is expected to draw up to 500 educators to campus.

"This is a great opportunity to showcase the College and our beautiful campus, gain exposure to numerous high school teachers and administrators across the region and deliver positive learning experiences that these professionals can bring back to their students," said Beth Ford, dean of admissions and financial aid.

This past school year, College Board reached almost 6,000 Midwestern high school and middle school educators and administrators through AP and Pre-AP Public Workshops. The subject-specific professional development opportunities aim to help teachers and administrators develop and deepen their programs to prepare students for the rigors of college. The workshops are hosted by institutions like across the country. This is the first time Notre Dame College is hosting a College Board event on campus.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.; the program runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The program will use 16 classrooms. Parking is not anticipated to be a problem as Thursday is the first day of fall break for NDC students.
