Administrative Coordinator
Finn Center, Office of Professional Development

General Description:

This position reports to the Director of the Finn Center Office of Professional Development and is under her/his general supervision.  This is a part-time position without benefits. The regular work schedule is 2-3 days a week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with one hour for lunch.  The employee may be expected to work an adjusted schedule and/or additional hours as needed.

Qualifiers:

Requires a bachelor degree with at least 3 years of experience.  Persons having experience in higher education is preferred.  Experience with Higher Reach, CARS or Cashnet is a plus.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; performs a variety of tasks; a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Description of Duties and Tasks:

  • Works in conjunction with the Director to expand Center programs and market course offerings
  • Responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
  • Performs a variety of administrative functions such as mail, phone, and copying.
  • Responsible for all learning event tasks including:
  • coordinating logistics for the successful hosting of each learning event, i.e., classroom preparation, signage, AV equipment, course materials, clean up  
  • coordinating and maintaining all records, i.e., registrations, room assignments, instructor information
  • preparing all Memorandum of Agreements for instructors
  • distributing and collecting all instructor forms
  • executing payroll requests for all instructors
  • Strategically distributes/replenish brochures around campus.
  • Other duties assigned as required.

Director for Intercollegiate Athletics
Athletics

Notre Dame College seeks an exceptional leader for the position of Director of Intercollegiate Athletics (AD).  The AD is responsible for providing effective vision, leadership, and management to the athletic department, which features 24 NCAA Division II sports. The AD oversees all aspects of the intercollegiate athletics department including the supervision of all programs and personnel, budgeting, contest scheduling, transportation, facility management, and fundraising, community engagement, the recruitment of academically and athletically talented student-athletes, and the recruitment and evaluation of coaches and staff. The director will delegate specific responsibilities to assure the efficient and productive operation of all academic, administrative, business, fiscal and health related activities of the department.

The director serves as the principal liaison and representative for Athletics with the campus community, conference and national affiliations. The director works collaboratively with other areas of the College including: Academic and Student Affairs, the Communication office, Alumni Affairs and Advancement, for the betterment of the athletics department and the College as a whole.

Job Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of planning, supervision, staffing, delivery, and evaluation of the intercollegiate athletics program.  Which includes:
    • Establish a comprehensive recruitment strategy for student-athletes;
    • Manage budgets for the Athletic Department;  
    • Hire, train, and evaluate personnel;  
    • Ensure compliance with NCAA and league rules, as well as all other applicable federal and state regulations; 
    • Provide leadership in developing plans for facility improvements to meet the needs of the athletic program;
    • Engage the campus and local community in athletics program and events;
    • Assist in raising funds in conjunction with the Office of Advancement.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Sport/Athletic Management, Physical Education, Recreation, or appropriate related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years full-time experience in the administration of intercollegiate athletic programs at the college or university level, two years of which were in a supervisory capacity; experience in coaching also considered.
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relations.
  • Demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in the development and management of a departmental budget.
  • Commitment to student learning and the ideal of the scholar-athlete.
  • Thorough knowledge of NCAA and Title IX regulations.
  • Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Candidates with strong regional contacts and/or experience preferred.

 

Assistant Professor for Biology
Biology

Notre Dame College announces a position for a full time Biology professor beginning in August, 2012.  Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D.  The candidate will be responsible for teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology, Basic Anatomy and Physiology, General Biology and other related courses as needed.  Please submit a cover letter, CV with references, and statement of teaching philosophy to careers@ndc.edu.  Official copies of transcripts will be requested and received before an interview is scheduled.  Review of applicants will being January 17, 2012 and continue until the position is filled.

 

Director of Composition
Department of English & Communication
Academic Affairs

Notre Dame College announces a full time position for an English professor who will serve as the college’s Director of Composition.  Applicants must have an earned Ph.D.  and a demonstrable commitment to teaching, service, and scholarship.  The department prefers an applicant who has experience working in a writing center and also one with a strong background in British literature, Comparative literature, or Continental literature.  The candidate will also teach composition and upper level literature courses each semester.  Salary is competitive and linked to experience.  Please send letter of application, CV, sample syllabi for a composition course and a literature course; and a narrative describing teaching philosophy to careers@ndc.edu.  Official copies of transcripts will be required of candidates interviewed.  Materials will be reviewed until the position is filled; the position begins in Fall of 2012, pending approval. 

 

Adjunct Faculty - Clinical Nursing

Collaborates with full-time course faculty and health care agency staff to provide  instruction for students in the clinical setting.  Provides clinical supervision of a nursing student involving the delivery of nursing care to an individual or group of individuals. The Clinical adjunct faculty is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the clinical experience consistent with the mission, philosophy and conceptual framework of the Notre Dame Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Completion of an approved professional nursing education program in a jurisdiction as defined in paragraph (S) of rule 4723-5-01of the Ohio Administrative Code
  • A master’s degree from an accredited institution:
  • If the individual does not possess a bachelor of science in nursing degree, the master’s or other academic degree, including, but not limited to a Ph.D., shall be in nursing;
  • If the individual possesses a bachelor of science in nursing degree, the master’s degree may be, but is not required to be, in nursing; and
  • Ability to analyze, apply knowledge, plan, implement and evaluate student learning needs and patient care needs
  • Ability to assess and anticipate student behavior and plan accordingly

 Required Length and Type of Experience

  • Experience for at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
  • Demonstrated expertise or specialty certification in the area of clinical practice in which nursing students are supervised/instructed

 Required Licensure, Certification or Registry

  • Current valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association Health Care Provider Course).

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience in a baccalaureate nursing program.
  • Specialty certification in the area of clinical practice in which nursing students are supervised


Adjunct Faculty in General

Notre Dame College operates on semesters.  We use adjunct instructors when our full-time faculty aren't available to teach courses.  Our needs vary based on enrollment and scheduling.  We accept resumes year round but department chairs may not contact applicants immediately.  The majority of our hiring is done in the summer for fall classes.  It is helpful to review our course catalog to understand what academic programs we offer and types of courses.

  • Successful candidates will have a minimum of a Masters degree in their field 

  • Online teaching experience is preferred
