Opening Celebration

Students, faculty, staff and friends of the College will come together to officially recognize the beginning of a celebratory period of time marking the founding of the College 90 years ago.
The opening event will feature a presentation of the history of the College by Dr. Andrew P. Roth, appropriately recognizing the past while looking toward the future. The historical presentation will be followed by an overview of events planned over the next year-and-a-half that will mark this special time in history in addition to a bit of Falcon fun and spirit featuring the NDC band, choir and cheerleaders. Some special prizes will be awarded and a cake and punch reception will follow in the Regina Gym.
March 26 is a special day in NDC history as it was on that date in 1922 that Mother Mary Cecilia Romen wrote a letter to Cleveland Bishop Joseph Schrembs asking for permission to open a college for women. Less than a month later, the bishop granted permission. The rest, as they say, is history.
